The science of psychology entails a large majority of research and science and math work hand in hand. Without the ability to collect and analyze data, psychologists can not come to conclusions based on thus said data. By taking a statistics course, they learn how to correctly conclude their research.

You would need to know how to analyze and collect date for psychology because you need to be able to understand how to apply the information to the experiment. This makes the process of holding an experiment a lot easier and straight forward. If you did not know how to collect and analyze data, the experiments would be impossible to gather a conclusion from.
