Ice cream weather is usually hot and during summer, this is when people stay out later and tend to do things that they normally wouldn't. This may be the perfect time for serial killers or murders to occur.

they have no correlation in a direct sense but maybe other factors could be influencing both

Ice cream causes violent crime to shoot up because of the season they are both sold in. The weather in the summer is better than in the winter causing ice cream sales to go up. Criminals are also more likely to commit their crimes outside when its warm rather than suffering the terrible weather.

I am guessing that either the amount of sugar consumed would cause hyperactive behavior which would lead to violent behavior or the violent behavior could stem to the limited amount of ice cream happening in the sale could cause behaviors such as line skipping, theft, ect which can lead to violent interactions with others.

As ice cream sales increase, violence and crime rates also increase because during the summer people interact with each other more. More interaction allows for more conflict. The heat of summer also can get to people's heads causing them to not be able to think properly, thus leading to them act violently unlike they would regularly act.
