What defense mechanism do you usually use? Why do you think this is the case?

Happiness is technically a bunch of chemicals running through out bodies. Although, its impact on us is much bigger. I would explain happiness as a choice and an necessity to have a good, full life.

I believe that happiness is truly just chemicals flowing through our brains and without it I think that we'd be emotionless. The reason I think happiness is chemicals flowing through our brains is because happiness doesn't stick around for long once it's triggered depending on the person.

I wouldn't just associate happiness with chemicals since it makes it seem like a science rather than emotion. It depends on the person and you can not just wish happiness onto someone by releasing some chemicals.

I think happiness is an emotion that is regulated by certain parts of the brain, but is ultimately a result of stimuli and the environment. I think happiness is an unconscious emotion that people feel in response to positive stimuli or a nurturing, comfortable environment and is an emotion that is regulated in different amounts depending on the person. I do however believe that some brain disorders can alter individual perceptions of happiness.

All emotions are just chemicals flowing through your brain, so happiness is another one of them. Happiness can be triggered by all sorts of things, varying from hugs to eating chocolate. Happiness can also be affected by what people you are around. If you are around more positive people, you will tend to feel happier. I believe whenever something that your brain perceives as good happens, happiness chemicals flow through the brain to make you feel that happiness.
