I think a person can be alive with half a brain but they won't be their self. A person needs their whole brain to make up their whole personality and live a functional and independent life.

I think it most definitely would be possible due to the plasticity of the brain. The brain can adjust and compensate for the lost half and begin to function properly again.

Yes it is possible to live with only half a brain because there’s a test of a girl who had half her brain removed to stop her epilepsy. Her left side was removed and the right side took dominance over all the tasks that the left used to perform. Your brain adapt so to it’s surroundings and is able to properly function, even with only half.

It is possible to live with half a brain especially if you get the surgery as a kid. The plasticity of the human brain could transfer all of the responsibilities from one side to the other, in order to function with only half of your brain.

Yes it is possible because many people go through a process called a Hemispherectomy (when one half of the brain is surgically removed) such as when the little girl was having seizures daily due to brain hemorrhaging and had half of her brain removed and she recovered really well. There is also people who are actually born missing half of their cerebral cortex.
